2019 Expeditions

In 2019 I led two expeditions into the wild Iceland. We skipped the most touristy spots you have probably seen a million times on Instagram and went deep into the Highlands and around the remote Westfjords including a long multi-day hike in Hornstrandir to find the real taste of this beautiful land. In this video I’ve summarised our experiences from both expeditions:

Iceland is still a very special land featuring truly otherworldly landscapes and one can still find places that are not run over by hordes of tourists, given you have time, proper outdoor equipment, a good 4x4 and the spirit for adventure. Here’s a video from our exploration trip to the Highlands in 2018:

The above video has had the following achievements:

We traveled to Iceland for a week in September to explore its Highlands and look for places less crowded. Not only we found those, but also 6 out of 7 nights we were blessed with Northern Lights just as the season was getting started. Highlands are excellent for aurora photography since there’s no light pollution and there are plenty of interesting foreground options to suit every photographer’s imagination.
